Physical gift cards vs e-codes: what to check

Prepare the right details for a quote, whether your gift card is printed on a card or delivered digitally.

Start with how the card was delivered

A physical card is a tangible item, while an e-code is delivered digitally, often by email or as part of a purchase record. The format can affect what a buyer needs to verify. A photo of a physical card does not turn it into an original digital-delivery product.

For a physical card

Check the brand, issue country, currency and face value. Keep the purchase receipt if you have one. For an initial quote, describe the card and receipt availability without sending an exposed redemption code or unrelated receipt details.

  • Read the exact product name on the card.
  • Disclose whether it is unused or has a remaining balance.
  • Mention any damaged or unreadable areas before agreeing to a trade.

For an e-code

Use the original purchase record to identify the region and denomination. Keep the delivery email private during the initial conversation. A buyer may need to distinguish a gift code from a game key, promotional voucher or subscription.

Does one format always have a higher rate?

This site makes no such claim. Ask for a quote for your exact format and denomination. Ask about the exact format you hold; acceptance and the final amount are confirmed in your conversation.
